Hi, I’m Annaleigh!
Welcome to my passion project. Outside of The Responsible Adventurer, I’m a communications professional, outdoor enthusiast, and travel-obsessed. The best kind of day for me is spent exploring somewhere new and my favorite type of night in is in a tent under the stars. I grew up in Orlando, FL and have since lived in cities and countries around the world including Australia, Thailand and Denver, CO. I travel to new places whenever I get the chance, my last trip being to Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina (where I trekked the W Circuit in Patagonia), but also enjoy immersing myself in a community for a long period of time.
Over recent years, I have worked in B2C guest marketing for a vacation rental company, explored travel research and writing in South America, and started a communications role with the Steamboat Springs Chamber in Steamboat Springs, CO. Alongside this work, I have also completed certifications in sustainable tourism and adventure tourism. I was awarded the Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) in 2021 and earned the Adventure Tourism Graduate Certificate from Colorado State University in 2022.
When I have the opportunity, I enjoy publishing sustainble tourism-related articles and case studies (see section below). I am most interested in improving tourism’s impacts on communities and the environment, and leveraging adventure tourism activities to do so. Communications is my expertise, but responsible travel is my passion.
Thanks for being part of the journey! Let’s connect :)
